The Way the Truth and the Life

Devotion
What a short, powerful sentence. In it, we see that Jesus doesn’t beat around the bush when it comes to what we should believe as Christians. He doesn’t use a parable or say something “smart” so we can try to interpret it. He just says that He is the way the truth and the life. Pretty straightforward, right?
Yet we live in a world where we are desperate to make the Bible agree with “our truth” rather than the truth preached by Jesus in the Bible. Our children are being taught theology through TikTok videos that, in 30 seconds or less “debunks” the fundamentals that we know to be true. Why is it so easy for our young people to believe these quick, instant theologies? Why do we as parents even struggle sometimes to answer their questions?
The answer is simple. We don’t spend enough time in God’s Word. Just you, just me, alone, with the Holy Spirit and the scriptures. We are passing on truth because we don’t really know what it is anymore, because we’d rather read other books that make us seem smarter, and teach us life hacks and quick fixes.
Let me encourage you today, that The Bible is the only truth we will ever need. And that this Truth, will be the only Truth to set us free. Free from any type of hurt, struggles and fears we might face. Let’s dive into God’s Word and ask the Holy Spirit to find the answers that we are looking for.

"Holy Spirit, I ask that You reveal truth to me through Your word today. Guide me as I read the Scriptures, to read it through Your lens, so that I may be set free from the struggles I face. Help me to guide my children through this world filled with so much false truths, so they may know and see Jesus, the only Way, Truth, and Life. Amen"
