Philosophy of worship

Psalm 33
1 Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous;
    it is fitting for the upright to praise him
2 Praise the Lord with the harp;
    make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
3 Sing to him a new song;
    play skillfully, and shout for joy.
At New Hope worship is a big part of all our gatherings, whether it be on a Sunday or any night during the week for one of our youth Events.  When we worship we believe in singing joyfully and loud unto our savior and king. As Verse 1 of Psalm 33 says: “it is fitting for the upright to praise him” - if fits you, it is suitable for you, it is what you need.

We were all created to worship and at New Hope we won’t rest till that happens.
During our worship services we want newcomers to faith to feel comfortable from the get go.  How we do this?  by turning up the volume (To a scientific measured db level), turning down the lights so that no one ever feels there is a spotlight on them and so that everyone can feel safe to raise their voices and hands.

When we worship and praise our king, there is so much that happens in the spiritual realm.  This is called spiritual warfare and we would encourage you to read the story of king Jehoshaphat in 2 Kings 17-21 to get an idea of what happens when we praise God.

Verse 3 in Psalm 33 calls us to play and sing skillfully.  We believe in bringing God our best and the best our congregation has to offer Him.  When David was building the temple he called for all the best of the best in all the different fields.  We will always strive for excellence in our worship and tech department.

If you have any questions regarding worship or if you are a skillful singer,  instrumentalist or tech person that would like to join our team,  please reach out our Worship Pastor Tovi - tovi@newhopechurchniagara.com
