Over the coming months we will be expanding our footprint, adding a brand new 1000 person sanctuary, beautiful new lobby, entirely new kid's church wing to welcome new families and an expanded parking lot. What happened

If you’ve been by New Hope First St recently, you’ve probably noticed the expanded parking area. This improvement comes after a lot of hard work removing the old sandy soil and replacing it with a more compactable base to create a stronger foundation for our future concrete pad. We’ve also installed approximately 1,000 feet of construction fencing, and the Hawkey site trailer and sea cans have now been delivered to the site.

What's happening

Right now, we’re working closely with our engineering team to review and address new requirements introduced by the St. Catharines Building Department. These updates relate to seismic ratings that must comply with the revised Ontario Building Code (OBC) came into effect in January 2025.

What's happening next

Our next step still includes the start of digging for the new footings to be poured. The rebar will also be getting dropped off on site, and they will start to pre-prep some of the rebar cages for the footings and columns.  

What to pray for

The city accepts our engineers’ response, allowing us to proceed with our original plan and obtain our building permits.  Pray for our resubmission of the foundation permit. Also, for our people, as we ask, listen and obey God in our pledges
